2025 Riley County
Community Needs Assessment
Overview & Purpose
Flint Hills Wellness Coalition is happy to announce that the survey link for the 2025 Community Needs Assessment (CNA) for Riley County is now open. Anyone who lives in Riley County who is at least 18 years of age is invited to take the survey.

The purposes of the survey are:
-
to get your input on the quality of life in the community, and
-
to identify the unmet needs in the community.

Some questions ask you about your personal experiences in the community and some ask for your opinions about the community in general. Questions cover topics associated with individual health and community health such as housing, transportation, nutrition, public education, older adults, youth, economic well-being, mental health, and physical health.
Participation in the survey is voluntary, and your responses will be anonymous. Your individual answers to this survey will be confidential. If results are published from this survey, only group results will be discussed. Any information that might identify you as a participant will not be shared. While your participation is voluntary and confidential, all community input is valued.

The survey takes about 20-minutes to complete. You can start and stop the survey if you stay on the same device. Please try to complete the survey as incomplete surveys are not as useful as completed ones.

Why is the CNA important?

-
Identify Community Health Problems:
CNAs help pinpoint the specific health problems and disparities within a community, allowing for targeted interventions.
-
Understand Contributing Factors:
By examining the social determinants of health and other factors, CNAs provide insights into the root causes of community health issues.
-
Inform Resource Allocation:
The data gathered in a CNA informs how resources are allocated to address the most pressing community health needs, ensuring that interventions are effective and sustainable.
-
Improve Organizational and Community Coordination:
CNAs facilitate improved coordination and collaboration between different organizations and community stakeholders.
-
Enhance Community Engagement:
CNAs involve community members in the assessment process, building trust and ensuring that interventions are aligned with community needs.
-
Strengthen Partnerships:
The assessment process fosters stronger partnerships between public health agencies, hospitals, and other organizations.
-
Evaluate Progress:
CNAs provide a baseline for measuring progress and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions over time.
-
Support Grant Applications:
Many funding agencies require a CNA as part of the application process, demonstrating a commitment to addressing community health needs.
-
Promote Health Equity:
By identifying and addressing health disparities, CNAs contribute to a more equitable distribution of resources and opportunities, leading to better health outcomes for all community members and better community health overall.
